Content Moderation Policy

Questmaster is committed to providing a safe and creative environment for all tabletop RPG enthusiasts. This Content Moderation Policy outlines the types of content that are permitted and prohibited when using our AI-powered services.
1. Our Approach to Content Moderation
We understand that tabletop RPGs often explore complex themes, including conflict, moral dilemmas, and mature storytelling. Our moderation approach balances creative freedom with responsible AI use:
- Context-Aware: We recognize that fantasy violence in a game context differs from real-world harmful content
- Safety-First: We maintain firm boundaries against genuinely harmful content
- User-Controlled: Content settings can be adjusted based on your gaming group's preferences
- Transparent: We clearly communicate what is and isn't allowed
2. Permitted Content
Questmaster supports creative storytelling including:
- Fantasy combat, battles, and adventure scenarios
- Complex villains with understandable (though not justified) motivations
- Morally gray characters and ethical dilemmas
- Horror elements appropriate for tabletop gaming (monsters, suspense, supernatural threats)
- Political intrigue and factional conflicts
- Character death and consequences in storytelling
- Mature themes handled tastefully (betrayal, loss, redemption)
- Historical or culturally-inspired fantasy settings
- Dark fantasy themes consistent with the genre
3. Prohibited Content
The following content is strictly prohibited and will not be generated:
3.1 Absolutely Prohibited
- Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM): Any sexual content involving minors in any context
- Real-World Violence Planning: Instructions or content intended to facilitate actual violence
- Terrorism: Content promoting, glorifying, or providing instructions for terrorist activities
- Human Trafficking: Content that promotes or facilitates human trafficking
3.2 Prohibited in All Contexts
- Sexual Content Involving Minors: Even in fictional game contexts
- Detailed Instructions for Weapons/Explosives: Real-world applicable instructions for creating weapons of mass destruction
- Malware and Hacking Instructions: Code or detailed instructions for malicious software
- Personal Information: Doxxing or sharing private information about real individuals
- Non-Consensual Content: Detailed depictions of sexual assault
- Extreme Graphic Torture: Gratuitous, detailed torture content without narrative purpose
3.3 Contextually Restricted
- Hate Speech: While villains may express prejudice for story purposes, content cannot promote real-world discrimination
- Self-Harm: Content that could encourage real-world self-harm is not permitted
- Explicit Sexual Content: Detailed sexual content is restricted; fade-to-black approaches are recommended
4. Content Rating System
Questmaster offers content rating controls to match your gaming group's preferences:

5. AI Safety Measures
Our AI systems include multiple layers of content safety:
- Input Filtering: Prompts are screened for prohibited content requests
- Output Filtering: Generated content is reviewed before delivery
- Context Analysis: The system considers the overall context of requests
- Continuous Monitoring: We regularly review and improve our safety systems
Note: No AI system is perfect. If you encounter content that seems inappropriate, please report it using the in-app reporting feature.
6. Attempting to Bypass Filters
Attempting to circumvent content moderation systems is a violation of our Terms of Service. This includes:
- Using coded language or character substitutions to request prohibited content
- Attempting to manipulate the AI through roleplay scenarios designed to bypass safety measures
- Requesting the AI to ignore its guidelines or "pretend" restrictions don't exist
- Breaking prohibited requests into seemingly innocent parts
Repeated attempts to bypass filters may result in account suspension or termination.
7. Reporting Content Issues
We encourage users to report:
- AI-generated content that violates this policy
- Bugs or loopholes in content moderation
- Suggestions for improving our content policies
To report an issue:
- Use the "Report" button within the app on any generated content
- Email us at moderation@questmaster.app with details
- Include the content in question and context for your report
8. Enforcement Actions
Violations of this policy may result in:
- Warning: For first-time minor violations
- Temporary Suspension: For repeated or moderate violations
- Permanent Ban: For severe violations or persistent abuse
- Legal Reporting: Content involving potential crimes may be reported to authorities
9. Appeals Process
If you believe your content was incorrectly flagged or your account was wrongly actioned:
- Email appeals@questmaster.app within 30 days
- Include your account information and the specific content/action in question
- Provide context and your reasoning for the appeal
- We will review and respond within 10 business days
10. Policy Updates
We may update this Content Moderation Policy as our understanding of AI safety evolves and community standards change. Significant changes will be communicated through the app and email notifications.
